The concept of the Support Team has changed a lot over time. Previously, this team was made up of several distinct individuals (about 8 in the end) who responded to the need for team volunteers through the positions page on the site at that time. Back then, the idea was for these specific individuals to spread the word of the project to various sites and forums in an organized manner. Over time, however, this tactic simply did not prove to be effective.
So, from there, Ryan and I stepped back with the current Committee Officers and decided that an entirely different concept was needed. Though it had vaguely occurred to me before, it finally became undeniably apparent that we had been going about this support business all wrong. We were explicitly involving only specific individuals in our primary support efforts and not all supporters as a whole. After all, are not all fans equally capable of supporting this project?
That's why the current Support Team, consisting only of a main coordinator (Ryan) and a coordination assistant (Michael), brings a different plan to the table.
The plan is simply this: Provide regularly scheduled meetings, hosted by these two Committee members, where the public can engage them in project questions and questions about how to support the project. I (Wayne) will schedule to attend some of these meetings, as well, so be sure to check the posted schedule often.
